I decided to start this project as a bit of fun. Hopefully, I'll have as many enemies and supporters in the end as the other recent player projects and events, but that remains to be seen.
Here's the rundown:
It's easy to join an alliance, spend all your dough on fancy tech 2 ships, and then get your ass kicked by BoB. Fortunately, It's even easier to put to use one of those two other player slots you get when you start up.
Why not just use one of those slots to go to war, not risking a penny on lost ships, items, skillpoints, etc?
Here's the deal. Day one. My first breath in the world of eve. I have no skills but what I started with. I have no isk. I have no friends. The near monumental task of being able to start a corporation would seem almost impossible if not for the grace of, you know, that other character. Beyond this, I'm on my own until I can recruit some noobs.
First order of business, let's open some offices.
As I write this piece, I'm kind of hovering above the Uedama-> Kubinen gate desperately trying to grasp the basic idea of what I'm even trying to do. Is this possible? Gathering a fleet of people willing to act as meatshields/annoyances/confuse-o-clouds in record time is something unheard of. Something completely new (to my knowledge). Something that I've been told is a complete waste of time.
Probably.
